Three pedals of the bike in front of Hotel Arrupe and
a blue metal structural piece on the rear shifter severed. I’m guessing metal fatigue. Right now Bikeiberia is investigating a repair or replacement bike. I may end up walking. At least it didn’t happen two miles down the road.

The room where it happened
I attended Easter Sunday Mass in the Chapel of the Conversion with about one hundred orhers. I am confident I was the only American there. Of the ten most important buildings in the world, this location probably belongs in the … Continue reading

Unless the Pope or Father General is picking you up at the airport in Bilbao,
you will need to change buses in Eibar. You will get off on at one stop and change. The correct bus stop is in front of the main doors of city hall.

A saint is unknown in his own country.
I had some confusion about the bus stops in Eibar; about 25 miles from Loyola. Some people knew the town existed but no one knew about Ignatius Loyola. Blank stares. The word “Jesuit” didn’t help either. Not a scientific survey … Continue reading

Fr. Phil Daugherty, S. J. would still be disappointed in my
Spanish language skills, but maybe some of these people are speaking Basque. The Mass at 10:30 in the Bascila is in Basque. But Father Daugherty would be please to know that Jack, Mary and Grace Begley all exceled in French … Continue reading
